Maat vs. Ranger

Thersites finally beat the old man on his third try! I thought I should share my strategy incase anyone else needs to fight him as a Ranger. I went in as a level 70 Galka Ranger with marksman skills capped. I didn't believe the old wives tale about going in without gear on, so I went in fully equiped.

Here's the gear I was using during the fight:

Trailer's Kurki

Boywer Ring
Marksman's Ring
Amemet Mantle
Royal Knight's Belt +1

Before the fight I used:

Opo Opo Necklace with sleep potions for TP

Sorry about the mixup at the ENM last night. Here's what happened from my point of view: On Monday night Darkkit graciously agreed to be my replacement. After a little discussion DK agreed to go as WHM. Based on this, an appropriate party setup was arranged, and I thought everyone was happy with the arrangement. A couple hours later DK tells me she's changed her mind and wants to go as RDM. I told her I didn't think it was fair to change after the other party members had already been informed about their job assignments. I told DK that Ray would be leading the party on Tuesday and that any changes at that point should be worked out with him. DK said she would talk to Ray about it.

ENM Static Party

Thank you all for helping to make this party a huge success. In light of the confusion and indecision we faced last night I think it is important to lay down some guidelines regarding our objectives.

The primary purpose of this static party is to regularly and efficiently get experience points for our members. Experience has shown that this can most reliably be accomplished by fighting ENM-DEM. Therefore this will be the first and primary objective each week. If a member can not get the DEM censor because they used it earlier in the week, then that member will need to find a qualified replacement who can fight ENM-DEM for that run.

Step 1: NQ Pitchfork

a) Partner with another player - preferably from windy too.

b) Go to Windurst woods: ask your partner to run to the npc disguised as a shade (you'll find it when running from moghouse exit to the dhamel farm, on the right side).

c) ..while you run to the npc near the gate to saru exit.

d) Trading one cookie (of any kind - ginger cookie worked for me) will turn your team into a Shade and Ghost respectively.

e) Both of you run to decoration with the moogles (location near exit to port windurst, after the fountain thingy)

Bought some of this at the auction house for 400 gil each. Can you imagine a food that gives +30 ranged accuracy, lasts 3 hours, and costs so little ?!?!?

Thirsty was fighting tough and very tough worms with his level 18 THF last night. Before eating the Beaugreen Sautee he was lucky to hit with three out of ten arrows. After eating Beaugreen Sautee, he was connecting about seven out of ten shots. Big improvement!
